Since the GIJN Help Desk was established, we’ve responded to over 10,000 requests for assistance, and the volume continues to grow. Most requests are for help on reporting and finding colleagues and sources, but others want advice on distribution, how to start up nonprofits and online newsrooms, fundraising and fellowships, awards, safety, security, legal defense, and more. To respond to these inquiries, GIJN relies on its multilingual staff, member organizations in 82 countries, and a network of experts drawn from our extensive training workshops and conferences.
